Michelle currently works as an internal communications specialist at ServiceLink. In her current role, she manages internal communication channels including the company intranet, on-site screens and email communications and develops communication plans for internal partners. In addition to these duties, she assists with designing graphics for use in internal platforms and on social media and edits copy for the marketing department as needed.
Store Communications Coordinator

Michelle worked as a store communications coordinator for DICK'S Sporting Goods for two and a half years. During her time with the company, she ensured direction sent to hundreds of stores across the country was clear and accurate. This role required collaboration with partners throughout the company to collect and condense information. She managed, wrote, and edited daily communications to the field and managed communication plans for larger projects such as holiday planning and employee recognition. She was also responsible for creating associate-facing content such as break room postings and a monthly video series.

This role also required working with employees in the company to train them in how to use the communication platform and how to most effectively communicate their message. This included group training sessions as well as working one-on-one with individuals.
Copy Editor
Aug. 2013 - April 2017
Michelle worked as a copy editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's student newspaper, while a student at Pitt. She was responsible for reading and editing the daily paper for grammar, clarity, and AP Style.

From August 2015 to April 2016, she served as copy chief, overseeing the Copy Desk team, hiring and training new employees, and carrying out final reads on stories.
PR Intern

As a senior in college Michelle interned with Pitt's English Composition Department, working with the department to promote new courses and events throughout the semester. She was responsible for creating promotional material like flyers and online ads as well as designing an advertising pitch for the Public and Professional Writing Certificate program.

While a sophomore in college, Michelle interned with the academic magazine Forbes & Fifth. She was responsible for designing a book-format layout for two publications.
